Now that the year is almost over, I checked how many times I’ve written this blog this year, and to my surprise, I’ve only written three times: once in May about MobileSuite, once in August about a ridiculous app, and once about the app itself…
The app blog, however, is about making a web app with AI, which is very typical for this year, but, well, it’s not something that anyone is interested in, and the app I actually made is, well, almost useless.
By the way, the biggest event this year was probably my move out of Suginami Ward, where I had lived for about seven years. But that was in October this year. I had a lot of events like MSDecoder, Seiichi Yamamoto, GOMES THE HITMAN, MellMell, moools, Tomoyuki Nagasawa’s concert, Yumi Hara’s tour in Japan, Europe tour, “Loudness,” a short film directed by Go Jibiki, and many other recordings…. But I think the most hectic thing this year is moving…
It’s already been three months since we moved in, and I still don’t feel like we’ve finished moving… I’m still cleaning up my room and setting up my equipment, or rather, I’m still looking for things because I don’t know where I put them when we moved in. I am also in a situation where I haven’t finished the things I put off to do after I moved out.
I’ve been thinking of blogging about it and becoming an affiliate, but since I can’t make any money affiliating with my own life, I’m just going to introduce my purchasecs
So, here are some of the things I bought this year that I was most interested in.
No. 1 WATCO Oil
I don’t know if this is the post to introduce only No. 1, but anyway, this is probably it for this year. Basically, I started looking into this because I wanted to make my work desk bigger, and I wanted to make a top board in the size I wanted and paint it with oil…well, it costs a bit, but I thought it would be better than buying a regular top board, so I decided to give it a try. I decided on 140cm width by 60cm depth by 25mm thickness, and bought 1800×900 laminated pine wood at CAINZ(DIY store) and had it cut. I also decided to make a drawer, so I had it cut to a size that would fit a 49-key keyboard.
I tried to do it like that while researching on the net, and it turned out to be a good job, although I made some mistakes.
By the way, this is in the middle of applying WATCO oil. Actually, I almost recorded the process of making WATCO oil or the work desk, but for some reason, my HDD stopped reading the data and I could not read it. Here is a capture screen I somehow made during the process.
Oh, and I took the finished desk with my iPhone, so there it is.
Hmmm, it looks good. But in the end, I’m not using this monitor arm and the keyboard drawer part right now…there are a lot of things going on…I’ll write about them some day.
For now, I’d like to talk about how I moved this year, built a work desk, and painted it with WATCO oil.
Oh, if I had a picture of the original pine laminated wood, you can see the difference.
